Supernatural Silents: Faust

May 12, 2018 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

black and white devil

Doors open at 18:30

God and Satan war over earth; to settle things, they wager on the soul of Faust, a learned and prayerful alchemist. During a plague, Faust despairs and burns his books after failing to stop death; Satan sends Mephisto to tempt Faust, tempting him to trade his eternal soul for youth.

Directed by F. W. Murnau, Faust was a technically elaborate and expensive production that took six months. Despite only half of the budget being recovered at the box office Faust is praised by film historians for seriously influencing studio shooting and special effects techniques.

With a live music accompaniment featuring electronics, guitars, vocals, zithers and drum machines, the talented artists of The Old Police House Collective will create an immersive soundtrack for this slice of film history unlike anything you’ve heard before.

This film is a PG – Parental Guidance. All ages admitted, but some certain scenes can be unsuitable for young children.

Tickets £12.50 (Unlimited pass holders £11.25) available now at reception, over the phone or online with no booking fees at our TICKET SITE
