This Spring we’re welcoming some new residents to the farm. Join us to meet these beautiful, fascinating beings and learn about them from our dedicated team.

With a heart-shaped face, buff back and wings and pure white underparts, the barn owl is a distinctive and much-loved countryside bird. voted Britain’s favourite farmland bird by the public in an RSPB poll in 2007, historically they barn were Britain’s most common owl species, but today only one farm in about 75 boasts a barn owl nest.

The British primitive goat is a landrace of domestic goat native to Great Britain and Ireland, and is the original goat of the region. A rare breed, they are comparatively small, hardy and wiry haired, adapted to rough terrain and weather. It has been suggested too that the north Cheviot goats are the descendants of goats liberated by the monks of Lindisfarne in the 16th century when the monastery was dissolved.

Complimentary with general admission to Jarrow Hall. Donations welcome.
