Flavours & Beats Festival

Kick off the festive season in style and join us at Jarrow Hall for the inaugural Flavours and Beats Festival.

On the evening of Friday 24th and Saturday 25th November Flavours and Beats will take over Jarrow Hall, and will bring a fusion of food, drink and music.

Championing an assortment of independent music, food and drink, Flavours and Beats will showcase the very best that the North East has to offer.

Festival organisers Savour Magazine and Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle have teamed up with some of the region’s very best street food vendors, craft breweries and mixologists along side a eclectic mix of local performers and bands, giving all revelers a diverse and enjoyable experience.

If you’re looking for an excuse to sip on a newly discovered (or old favourite) craft beer or treating yourself to a gin and tonic whilst enjoying some of the region’s best local food and great live music, then look no further than Flavours and Beats.

£6.00 per evening per person which includes a drink on arrival.

The Beats Line Up:

Annabel Pattinson

The beautiful and talented Annabel Pattinson will be taking to the stage with her ecelectic signature style.  Performing since the age of 12 Annabel is a singer song-writer who has played at venues througout the UK with a passion for music and a flair for performance.  Her debut single, ‘Psycho Bitch’, was released 1st June 2017 and with her string of original songs and knock out covers she has proved popular on stage time and time again.


Dead Man’s Shoes

With influences such as The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Killers and Fleetwood Mac, Dead Man’s Shoes are set to rock Flavours and Beats.  A North East acoustic rock, pop and blues duo who play everything from U2 to Guns N Roses.  Mark and Alan’s guitar riffs and solos play a large part in the set, alongside creative acoustic versions of several song covers.



'Rivelino' - Live Music on the Tyne

This North East covers band have been whipping the pubs and clubs of Tyneside and beyond into a musical frenzy for the last six years. Covering all genres of music including Rock, Pop, Funk and Soul classics, Rivelino will get you on your feet dancing and singing along in no time.

After finding success on X Factor local boy Sonny is pleased to be performing for his home crowd.

“It’s great to be coming back to my home town after travelling the country.  I’m really looking forward to what promises to be a great event – and one that champions independents.”



The Flavours Line Up:

Phi Pies

Bringing Greek Chic to the mix is Phi Pies – the premium Greek Street Food in the North East.  Offering up their mouth watering filo pastry pies, baklava, gyros and flatbreads for your enjoyment this treat is simply not to be missed.  If you’ve not tried Greek food before come and find out what you’re missing.  And for those of you that know – see you in the queue.


The Geordie Banger Company

The region’s only premium gourmet sausage company, family run for three generations.  Providing classic bangers with a Geordie twist – the all  Tyne favourites include Stiltoon Sausages (see what they did there!), The Black and White Banger – created with black pudding and white pepper, Wor Cumberland and Broon Ale Banger.


The Calabash Tree

The Calabash Tree creates flavours from Trinidad & Tobago, two iconic islands within the Caribbean.  The diverse culture that coexists on the islands – Indian, Creole, Chinese, European & Middle Eastern – have influenced a cuisine that is a vibrant mix of this rich heritage. The tastes and flavours delivered derive from the street food synonymous with the region. The infamous Doubles, roti and curried dishes are unlike the run of the mill street food you will have experienced!


Dark Steam Division

Bringing a small but power drinks list Dark Steam Division are a quirky mobile coffee van but with a twist.  Expect your coffee to be spiked with Bailey’s, your hot chocolate to be doused with Cointreau and your espresso kicked with Kahlua.  These winter warmers will keep you going on the dance floor all night.


Autumn Brewing

Autumn Brewing Co are bringing their range of British brews along to join the party!  Based in the North East of England and dedicated to producing high quality gluten-free beers and lagers they use only the best NATURALLY gluten-free brewing malts and ingredients.

Flavours and Beats just wouldn’t be complete without the Around the World Gin bar with tipples from all corners of the globe, including Tarquin’s Gin from Southwestern Distillery! Tarquin’s Cornish Navy SeaDog Gin has been voted “Best Gin” at the San Francisco World Spirits event, which is the Oscars of the spirits world.


Spirit of Hven

Spirit of Hven Organic Gin, which is made on the island of Hven in Öresund, between Denmark and Sweden is one of the many different gins on offer at the Around The World Gin Bar.  Situated on an island rich in agricultural heritage the surrounding region is home to some of Sweden’s absolute best producers of agricultural products, which explains why Spirit of Hven emphasise use of local raw materials.
