July 22 - 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 10:30 am on Monday, repeating until August 19, 2019
Join our Animal Care Studies tutor for the day to experience what it is like to look after some of the animals on our farm at Jarrow Hall.
The day will start with a brief health and safety talk and a tour of the farm taking the opportunity to meet the animals along the way. The remainder of the morning will be spent learning about some of the smaller animals. You will be taught basic care including feeding, daily health checks and how to handle them.
In the afternoon you will then move onto to the larger animals on the farm, again learning about safe handling, feeding and daily care routines.
To finish the day there will be an opportunity to ask questions and take part in a fun quiz about what you have learnt.
All of the sessions are taught with a mixture of practical, hands on experience, talks and demonstrations.
