Accessibility

Our site is wheelchair-accessible throughout, excluding one of the farm buildings which has an underground floor level (i.e steps down to access). Both levels of the Museum, Jarrow Hall and surrounding grounds are fully wheelchair accessible. There is a lift within the Museum for access to the upper level.

We currently have a health and safety issue with the level entrance to the museum building. If you require level access please, at your arrival, contact our Visitor Services team during opening hours, on 0191 424 1585, to get access to the building through a secondary entrance.

Accessible toilets and baby change areas are available both in the Bede Museum and the Jarrow Hall building.

A complimentary wheelchair is available at the Bede Museum reception, subject to availability. Assistance dogs are welcome across the site.

Jarrow Hall has reserved parking bays for blue badge holders adjacent to the Bede Museum entrance, available on a first come, first served basis.

Mornings can be busy at Jarrow Hall, if you prefer a quieter visit then we recommend coming to visit 1pm onwards.

Max Card holders can enjoy free admission and £1 off for up to two additional attendees (adult or child). Please enter the promotional code MAXCARD when asked when booking online.

Carers can enjoy Jarrow Hall free of charge when they are providing support to another visitor.

We are always looking to improve the accessibility for everyone at Jarrow Hall, if you would like to give us feedback please email jarrowhall@groundwork.org.uk or call us on 0191 4241585 during opening hours.

For any accessibility enquiries, please contact us in advance of your visit.
