Make History. Change Places. Volunteer Now.

Discover your passion, learn new skills and enjoy yourself as a volunteer at Jarrow Hall.

We need volunteers to help across our site, and we have a wide range of activities available for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to get involved in. Whether you have skills you'd like to support us with, you're looking to gain experience or just to make some new friends, we'll find a role to suit you.

As a volunteer Place Changer, you can become a guide, welcome visitors, help in our gift shop or with events, help on the farm and Herb Garden, get involved behind the scenes with the museum and collection, we'll put you exactly where you want to be. As a volunteer History Maker you can even help from home with crafting or digital support.  There is also the opportunity to help bring the world of medieval Northumbria to life in 2019 in our reconstruction Anglo-Saxon settlement, where you'll receive training and support.

You can expect a welcoming environment, training, travel expenses, celebration events and the opportunity to meet new people and develop skills. No experience necessary. Got an idea for something you'd like to do or get involved in at Jarrow Hall too? Put it in your application form - we're always listening.
