Discover your passion, learn new skills and enjoy yourself as a volunteer at Jarrow Hall.

At Jarrow Hall our volunteers are invaluable part of the team, supporting our development and increasing the work we are able to do both on and off-site. We are always looking for new people to join us, and we have a wide range of activities available for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to get involved in.

Do you want to share your existing skills and knowledge? Do you love working with the public and helping them have a great time? Do you want to develop your own skills and experience? Or do you simply want to meet some great people, make new friends and have fun? If you answered ‘yes’ to any or all of those then have a look through our role descriptions because we have something to suit you.

Our roles range from selling admission tickets and helping in our gift shop, to educating and entertaining our visitors as a Tour Guide or costumed Anglo-Saxon in our reconstruction Village: you can help by getting your hands dirty in our farm or Herb Garden, or by keeping your hands clean and supporting the care and conservation of our Collection.

You can expect a friendly and welcoming environment, thorough induction and training, travel expenses and celebration events as well as other benefits and the opportunity to meet new people.
