Our volunteers help us welcome, service and inform visitors.

Become a volunteer now at Jarrow Hall, and you can expect a welcoming environment, relevant training, supervision from our close-knit teams, travel expenses, celebration events, and the opportunity to meet new people and develop transferable skills.

We are currently looking for dedicated volunteers to help us launch this very special site, delivering an outstanding experience, and building our reputation as one of the finest, most welcoming and best-loved venues in the region.

Volunteers can assist in our museum, reception and shop, Anglo-Saxon farm, village and grounds, or become a Tour Guide or History Education Assistant.

Whether specialising in one or helping with all of these elements of our offer, you will become part of the Groundwork family and help to engage, inform and assist visitors, staff and fellow volunteers.

We’re taking applications up to and including Tuesday 14th March 2017. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an assessment day at One Trinity Green, South Shields on the 20th March 2017, and will be informed shortly afterwards if they have been successful.
