“Possibly my favourite place in the world... certainly the most important Anglo-Saxon site in the world"
Dr Janina Ramirez - Cultural historian, broadcaster and author

Discover the incredible world of Anglo-Saxon Northumbria and the extraordinary life of the father of English history at our 11-acre historical and environmental oasis in the heart of South Tyneside.

Jarrow Hall features a museum dedicated to exploring the fascinating life and legacy of Bede, an extensive Anglo-Saxon demonstration farm (home to rare-breed and rescued animals) and reconstructed Anglo-Saxon dwellings.

Open six days a week Tuesday to Sunday, Jarrow Hall is suitable for visitors of all ages and is companion animal-friendly too. See our Opening Times and Visitor Information page to plan your visit.

Jarrow Hall is managed and operated by Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle in partnership with South Tyneside Council and supported by Port of Tyne.
